Doug and I went to Chicago Oct 17th-20th and again the 25th-26th to visit with our friend Elad from Israel who was in the U.S. visiting for two weeks. Elad was one of Doug's best friends- he came over to the U.S. and went to his junior and senior year of high school with us, living with a family in our ward (Scott & Kristie), and Scott being a friend of Doug's, Elad instantly got in in Doug's shenanigans :) jk, but it was a good time. We had the opportunity to visit with Doug's parents and Doug's brother Matt & his family, then also with my parents. We went out A LOT, a house party, a few bar scenes, dinners, and had a good time catching up with friends from high school that we hadn't seen in AGES! Total blast from the past. It's funny, though, how good friendships stay intact and we can still get together and it's the same laughing and fun times as if no time has lapsed. For instance, Kate was my best friend in high school- I even lived at her house for about 3 months at the end of my junior year of high school when my parents moved to Michigan but I stayed behind in Batavia to finish my softball season & school year. I had such a good time reconnecting and reminiscing. Doug and Elad and all the boys of course never missed a beat in their same humor (eye roll please...). Ha! It was SUCH a good time! A lot of these pictures are from our day trip to Chicago with Elad, Kate, & Rachel- we went to Grant Park, Millenium Park, Greek Town & Santorini's Restaurant, and all over, while Elad had a good time molesting the artistic sculptures--BAH! There are about a ZILLION pictures on all of our Facebook pages, but here's a taste of a few of 'em. We miss you, Elad!
