Weekend at Devil's Lake

We made a spur-of-the-moment camping trip this weekend to Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo, WI, about 40 miles north of where we live. Some friends went with us, the Buffingtons, and we had a good time Friday night hanging out around the bonfire and Saturday morning hiking up the East Bluffs to see the Balanced Rock and the Devil's Doorway. Frank hiked up the whole thing and LOVED it! You say poor Frank---we say poor Mountain! jk It was a workout but absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous!

Lake House

We spent Sept 5-7th with some friends Ted & Bridget at a lake house on Clear Lake in Northern Iowa. It was a much needed vacation!

Volleyball

All summer we've been playing sand volleyball at Keva and we finished in 2nd place out of 14 teams. We went into the tournament on August 21st with a team ranking of 12th, but we won our first tourney game that night. Then the next week August 28th we won our next two tourney games and made it to the championship game at 9pm! We didn't play that well in our last one, maybe we were just really worn out, but it was still really sweet!!!! Here's a pic of our team (L to R kinda: Brad, Abrey, Blake, Jessica, Kendall, Warren, Sarah, & Frank), but we had to edit in Doug, Aaron, & Ryan who couldn't make it to the last night's games. Warren & Abrey's two kids and Frank chilled on the sidelines and cheered us on :) It was Frank's first and last game watching us....when Frank wasn't being run under the picnic table by the kids....
