Sarah's New Year's Resolutions 2008

A goal means nothing if not written down, and you're more likely to achieve your goals if others hold you accountable to them, so here goes! (Thanks for the inspiration and idea to put my goals on my blog, Tara!) Ok, these are divided into different categories, and some are *top secret*, but work with it here:

Physical Goals:
  • Lose 36 lbs by the end of 2008
  • Work out every day (M, W, F jogging, Tues body sculpting class, Th & Sat turbo kick class)
  • Eat vegetables every day (ok, this is sad, but many-a-day passes where I don't eat any veggies!)
  • Cut back on soda intake to none by the end of 2008
  • Remember to take vitamins every morning

Spiritual Goals:

  • Study Conference Ensign or Scriptures every morning before work
  • Be consistent with couple prayer
  • Attend the temple once a month

Financial Goals:

  • *top secret* :)

Career Goals:

  • Take on more decision making responsibility and exude more confidence at work
  • Take over all contract & policy delivery appointments with clients by the end of 2008
  • Develop skills within myself to transition towards Director of Operations role by end of 2008. Read at least one leadership book per month.

Family Goals:

  • Achieve a healthier and more consistent weekly schedule so we have more energy for workouts and Doug has more time for studying
  • Be able to visit friends & family in Utah one week in 2008
  • Be able to visit Melyssa in Boston one weekend in 2008
  • Be able to visit Aubrey in Phoenix one weekend in 2008
  • Read at least one book for fun each month
  • Have company over for dinner every Sunday night
  • Teach Frank come, outside, stay, down, rock (shake), roll over, play dead, turn around, and dance.
Sweet! So now everybody who reads this has to keep me accountable to achieving these goals! I've already got a couple done on the list and many of the day-to-day things are underway. I hope you can become the best you in 2008! Happy New Year!

Frank and Phyllis' Play Date

This past Saturday, we got together with Phyllis & her parents again- Lauren & Evan. Phyllis is Frank's sister. We met at the vet's office, strange enough, a couple of weeks after we adopted the pups from the same rescue organization, Bullies'N'Friends in Baraboo, WI! We think they recognize each other and they have SO MUCH FUN playing together! This is their third play date--or wrestling match, however you look at it. It's hilarious! Frank is about 16lbs and Phyllis is about 10lbs....these pics make Frank look so fat! Frank is has the darker face and Phyllis is lighter in color overall, but their tails and tongues both curl the same direction!

Awww, precious little angels!

Crazy eyes!

Ok, this is kind of a freaky one of Phyllis!

Wow, this is Hollywood quality! Jackie Chan ain't got nothin' on this!

Action shot! Get away from the Bobo and nobody gets hurt! :)
They will pause and pose for a treat! Nice sit!
Close up of Frank!

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve with Doug's family at his parent's house in Batavia, IL. Here are some pictures of the family around the dinner table...mmmmm, Dad's steaks! That night we ate pie, had some bubbly cider, worked on a puzzle, played some games, and watched the countdown to midnight. Frank was so worn out after a week of playing with the Weight's newest addition, a 6 month old PBGV-mix named Porter. The two bash brothers barely ever relaxed long enough for a picture- they have so much fun wrestling! Doug's brother Jeff and his wife Jannan are expecting a baby in February and Doug's brother Matt and his wife Erianne are expecting a baby in July.

Frank and the Best Dad in the World

Meet my snuggly son Frank, who happens to have the best dad in the world- my Doug! The two boys are so in love with each other!

The Simple Joys of Life

So a few weeks ago I made stuffed shells and gave Frank the deli parmesean cheese tub with a few shreds of cheese still in it. He devoured the cheese shreds and then would NOT drop the container for well over an hour. It was hilarious! He would carry it around, walk from room to room, sit on the sofa with it, all the while looking through the clear plastic! What a nerd!

Ah, to be so amused by the simple things in life each day......
